Sept 1, 2021 MEETING NOTES OF ZION’S ADULT FELLOWSHIP GROUP – NOONERS
. . . Prayer & greetings to the 39 old and new members who attended today: Pastor Jesse
. . . Introduction of our 8 new members – welcoming them and praying they will return next month and continuing – Gary Baun, Pat Clingerman, Georgiann Franklin, Elaine Kamps, Diane Kashubare, Cheryl & Jim Updegraff, and Aloise Wertz.
. . . Sang happy birthday to our September members: Dave Burky, Pam Cronenwett, and Diane Kashubare.
. . . A BIG THANK YOU to our dessert providers: Vicki Riggle, Cheryl Updegraff and Giant Eagle!
You know, usually everyone either eats there lunch at home or brings a sack lunch and Nooners provides the drinks and desserts. Well, since we had not been together since March of 2020, we decided to have a wonderful lunch plus desserts: sloppy joes, pizza, potato salad, mac and cheese, brownies, pumpkin dump cake, lime jell-o, chocolate cake and white almond cake with cream in the middle….. No one went hungry!
Well, since we all were too full to move, our activity was simple… FINISH THE DRAWING. Each table was given 8 sheets of paper, each one with different squiggles. Everyone had to make a drawing out of the squiggles; and I do have to tell you we have quite a few artists in our group! Everyone got a ticket just for attending, they received a ticket for drawing their picture, and if anyone created the same picture that I had drawn for each of the 8 pictures, everyone at their table received two tickets. Of course, all the tickets were placed in the container and one of our new members, Georgiann Franklin, picked one out for the DOOR PRIZE. Congratulations went out to Mona Hunter, who won a thick, soft FALL pillow!
Some grabbed snacks, others grabbed another dessert and others were too full and just waddled to the game tables… 500 Bid cards, Buzz Word, Outburst or Word on the Street. There’s a new table added this year, hosted by Audrey Faust. It is an Arts & Craft Table, where pictures were colored and kept…. Looking ahead to some crafts – Do you have any ideas for this table – just let us know. We are always up for suggestions.
We played to our closing hour of 2:00. Then everyone received a ticket for the GAME PRIZE. Those tickets were placed in the bowl and another one of our new members, Pat Clingerman, pulled out the winning ticket of Dorothy Downie, who won a table plaque “God Keeps His Promises.” Congratulations Dorothy!
NOONERS, Zion’s adult fellowship group, meets on the first Wednesday of every month at “noon” in Crossroads. Just bring a lunch item, if desired; the drinks, desserts and snacks are provided. The cost is $2.00 and we encourage a donation to Zion’s Food Distribution. If you have any questions, see Cher Theisler.
LOOKING FORWARD TO OCTOBER - the secret is out, it’s gonna be a Halloween Olympics!
