This Lenten season Zion will be hosting a series of talks we've entitled, "Help in the Desert" led by mental health professionals from our area on a wide range of subjects related to surviving or coming out of the pandemic.
Each talk will be live on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM in Zion's Sanctuary.

- March 9 - Covid Brain is a video recorded as Betsy Stone, Ph.D. addressed the ELCA's Conference of Bishops on a wide range of brain trauma caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be spectators of their informational gathering and while no expert will be present on this evening, we will have a time to comment on the presentation.
- March 16 - Depression and Anxiety and how it may have been exacerbated by the pandemic and lack of socialization will be discussed this evening by Ms. Natasha Cramer from Meridian Healthcare. The discussion will be helpful and hopeful for those unaffected but interested individuals as well as those affected and their loved ones.
- March 23 - Youth and Family issues especially including masking and remote learning and the limitations on socialization and how it has affected the behavior of children at school and at home. Our presenter this evening will be Mr. George Atkins from Alta Behavioral Healthcare.
- March 30 - Occupational Psychology addresses folks who may have lost their job because of the pandemic and have not returned to the workforce at all; folks who have not returned to work at their place of work; folks who fear returning to work or return to normal socialization at work. Our presenter this evening will be Ms. Theresa Berkenyi from Compass Family & Community Services.
- April 6 - Elderly Issues addresses elderly folks who may have co-morbidities or poor health or who used to go out but don't anymore out of fear or insecurity due to the pandemic. Our discussion will be led this evening by Cassandra Valentini from Direction Home.
