How Does This Mini Pantry Work?
This mini pantry is an easy way for neighbors to help neighbors who need food, hygiene, or paper items. Even though its home is on this property, this mini pantry belongs to all of us. Please take care of it and the space around it. Tidy the mini pantry if it needs it. If you can, clean up spills, and please don’t litter. Give what you can by placing food, hygiene, or paper items inside the mini pantry. Give what you would want to receive. An easy rule of thumb: buy extra of what you buy your household. No gift is too small. A single can of green beans can help. Items should be unexpired and in good condition. Take what you need. If you find items inside and you need them, take them and know we care about you. Please remember the mini pantry belongs to all of us and take only those items you need, trusting the mini pantry will be here for you again. |
The Cornersburg Community CupboardZion Launches a New Ministry: The Cornersburg Community Cupboard
Zion is excited to announce a new ministry that is now up and running! You may have noticed the white cabinet on legs in front of the church near the West entrance. This cabinet is our Little Free Pantry, officially named the Cornersburg Community Cupboard. The Cornersburg Community Cupboard is a free food pantry that provides food and essential items to members of our community at any time. Inspired by the Little Free Library concept, the pantry operates on a simple principle: Take what you need. Give what you can. We hope this cupboard will flourish as a community mutual aid project. While Zion will help tend the pantry, keep it neat, and restock as needed, the heart of this ministry is community involvement. Everyone is encouraged to feel comfortable using the cupboard and contributing items as they are able. We invite you to check it out! Flyers with cold-weather ideas for stocking a Little Free Pantry are available at the Welcome Center. For your interest, the Little Free Pantry movement began at a Lutheran church in Arkansas and has since spread across the country and beyond. You can learn more at **www.littlefreepantry.org**—and yes, we are now on the map! If you have questions, please email Chris Harris at [email protected]. Donations of food or essential goods may be placed directly in the cupboard. If the cupboard is full, please label your donation and place it with the food distribution cart in the Crossroads. Thank you for helping us support our neighbors and strengthen our community. | ||||||
