Epiphany is known as the Season of Light.
The tradition of burning trees at Epiphany signifies the arrival of Jesus coming to earth as the Light of the world.
As the darkness of sin covers our lives, it is the brilliance of Jesus’ light and love that surrounds us.
We would like to begin a new tradition at Zion
by hosting a brief, outdoor tree burning service
Saturday, January 5th after the 5:00 service.
This celebration will include a bonfire made up of
discarded live Christmas trees. If you have a tree to
Include in the bonfire, please contact Janet Hartman
to let her know. Light refreshments will follow the service.
