Thank you for an amazing 2015-2016 Sunday School year. We had a lot of fun starting with Opening Ceremonies, then on to the Christmas Pageant and Parents Night out, with Jesus’ Birthday Party rounding out 2015. In 2016, Zion hosted its ever-popular indoor Carnival, a moving Maunday Thursday, a visit from Camp Frederick, and a sweet service project at Closing Ceremonies. Hard to believe it’s soon time to start all over again!
Registration forms for the 2016-2017 Sunday School program are now available online and in the Crossroads at the Youth Information Table (under the office windows). Please sign your children up as soon as possible. Click button for the registration form if you wish to print at home and return to the collection box on Zion’s Youth Information Table.
Following our year of fun, we’ve made a few changes to our classroom format. Most of these changes are in response to suggestions made by parents and children. Other changes have been made in compliance with the newly adopted “2 adults per classroom” best-practice guideline. Most importantly, the modifications that we’re trying this year address a big-picture goal: to provide a youth experience that will keep kids actively walking their faith journey long after Confirmation is complete. We feel confident that our Sunday School volunteers, families, and children can make life-long church participants out of Zion’s youth.
With no further ado, this year, Zion’s classrooms will be as follows: PreK- 1st Grade Grades 2-5 *Grades 6+ *Children are eligible to attend the Adult Bible Study after confirmation class is complete. The transition from Sunday School to Adult Bible Study will be at the discretion of the youth and their parents. Students in Sunday School will experience a 3-week rotation for each Bible story. The rotation will go as follows: PreK-1st Grade: 2nd-5th Grade: Week One – Drama Week One - Science Week Two – Art Week Two - Art Week Three – Games Week Three - Games
